Novel R-Plasmid-Mediated Beta-Lactamase from Klebsiella aerogenes

ABSTRACT
A novel ß-lactamase with a broad spectrum of activity against penicillins and cephalosporins has been detected in a strain of Klebsiella aerogenes. Its synthesis is mediated by an R-plasmid of molecular weight 64 x 106.
