Abstract |

Serum (1
3)-
-D-glucan concentrations were serially measured in the presence and absence of antifungal therapy in a murine model of invasive pulmonary aspergillosis. Serum (1
3)-
-D-glucan was detected early during the course of infection, and reductions in this biomarker were associated with improved survival in animals treated with antifungal agents.
