The Instructions to Authors is updated throughout the year. It provides guidance on topics including but not limited to: Editorial Policy, How to Submit Manuscripts, Organization and Format, Illustrations and Tables, Nomenclature, Abbreviations and Conventions, and Publication Charges.

Submitting to Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy

All submissions to Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy must be made electronically via eJournalPress (eJP) http://aac.msubmit.net online submission and peer review system.

ASM primary research journals will consider for publication manuscripts that have been posted in a recognized not-for-profit preprint archive. Please review our preprint policy announcement for more information.

Author Services

Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID)
ASM Journals is a member of ORCID and publishes author ORCID IDs in articles. ORCID provides a persistent digital identifier that distinguishes you from every other researcher and, through integration in key research workflows such as manuscript and grant submission, supports automated linkages between you and your professional activities ensuring that your work is recognized.

The ORCID Registry is available free of charge to individuals, who may obtain an ORCID identifier, manage their record of activities, and search for others in the ORCID Registry. To register for an ID, please visit the ORCID website .

Kudos
ASM Journals is working with Kudos , a new company that has developed a toolkit of easy-to-use guidelines and templates to help researchers leverage social media to increase awareness of their articles. Authors who register with Kudos’ free service will be able to view the impact of social media efforts, including a Facebook share or tweet, on their Kudos Author Dashboard. Corresponding authors will receive an email with instructions on how to register with Kudos.

Language Editing Services
We are sometimes asked by our authors to recommend language editing companies. These commercial companies can help authors to improve the English in their manuscripts before the manuscripts are submitted for review by a journal. The services offered by such companies can be very helpful for authors whose first language is not English. We have compiled a list of editing services for your convenience.

ASM Permissions & Commercial Reprints

Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy offers the Copyright Clearance Center's Rightslink licensing solution for ALL requests to reuse content from ASM Journals. Users of any of the journal sites can easily obtain a quote and copyright permission.
