  • a Different concentrations of aspirin were added to mature (48-h) biofilms grown in the absence of the drug, and incubation was continued for a further 5 to 48 h. XTT reduction is expressed as a percentage of that of control 48-h biofilms incubated for the same time period without aspirin. The results are means ± standard errors of the means of two independent experiments carried out in quadruplicate. Mean ± standard error of the mean values (A492) for the controls for different incubation periods ranged from 2.556 ± 0.033 to 2.807 ± 0.080.
