  • a Stepwise multiple regression was used to measure the contribution of specific mutations to the percentage of variance (R2) in the resistance magnitude (log10 fold resistance). Mutations were scored as 1 when exclusively present, 0.5 when present in combination with the wild type, and 0 when absent. For example, V82A or -F was entered first and accounted for 66% of the variance in RTV resistance magnitude; I54V was entered second and accounted for a further 10%.
