  • a Gametocytocidal activity was measured using alamarBlue, a fluorescent oxidoreduction indicator of gametocyte metabolic activity. The IC50 values were obtained from dose-response curves calculated from normalized percent activity values and log10-transformed concentrations (see Fig. 3S in the supplemental material). Epoxomicin and DMSO were used as positive and negative controls, respectively.
