  • a Treatment with 0.5 μg of azithromycin (AZM) per ml or 0.015 μg of rifampin (RIF) per ml, in both, was started 2 days after infection. Culture of cells without antibiotics resulted in complete destruction of the cell monolayer in 6 days. The data are the means ± standard deviations of four experiments.
