    Glycopeptides such as vancomycin have been used as the first-line therapy against MRSA infections for over half a century. Reduced susceptibility and emergence of resistance to first-generation glycopeptides has led to development of second-generation lipoglycopeptide derivatives such as dalbavancin which hold broader ranges of activity and enhanced pharmacokinetic properties.

    Dose Selection and Validation for Ceftazidime-Avibactam in Adults with Complicated Intra-abdominal Infections, Complicated Urinary Tract Infections, and Nosocomial Pneumonia

    Avibactam is a non-β-lactam β-lactamase inhibitor that has been approved in combination with ceftazidime for the treatment of complicated intra-abdominal infections, complicated urinary tract infections, and nosocomial pneumonia, including ventilator-associated pneumonia. In Europe, ceftazidime-avibactam is also approved for the treatment of Gram-negative infections with limited treatment options.
